Mexico

Apr 26th, 2007

Guadalajara was a good time. Ox, Fluffer, Wacker, Jonny Ebenal, Kenny Bell and I did the show with Jhonny Pala...something from Mexico. Mexico Jhonny scared and amazed us with his first jump in practice. He came down the tunnel shifting into third and we thought he was going into the bleachers. He then let off about 30 feet before the ramp and coasted all the way off and greased the landing. It put us all into shock. The kid definitely has some bike skills, he just needs some time on a ramp. Ben Bettis and Caleb Moore were also there on their quads. They definitely impressed me their tricks, but jumping something that big over a 70' gap and stopping that quick was impressive itself. After jacking the ramp up so that it sent Caleb ridiculously high, he went for a backflip and under-rotated. He landed on his chest on a metal landing ramp and I thought he was going to be seriously hurt. After a couple minutes, he stands up and walks off with a scratch on his shoulder and a concussion. So with the exception of one guy getting minor injuries and two guys getting the Mexico stomach, it all went great.
